Having previously represented school district clients across Pennsylvania for many years, we are also uniquely qualified to anticipate and understand the challenges that parents often face in attempting to obtain the educational services that they need and deserve for their children.

Ms. John is a native of and currently resides in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Central Bucks East High School. She is a graduate, summa cum laude, of Delaware Valley College, and she received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law.

Ms. John is a partner and founding member of Jacobson & John LLP, where she provides statewide representation of parents of students with special needs in a variety of matters. Ms. John was previously a shareholder in a Bucks County, Pennsylvania law firm that represented school districts throughout the state, where she spent almost a decade of her legal career. Ms. John’s legal career also includes service as Law Clerk to The Honorable William J. Furber, Jr. of the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County, and as Assistant District Attorney for the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

Ms. John is a native of and currently resides in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, where she lives with her husband and two children. She received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law.

Ms. John has been an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Legal Services for Exceptional Children Committee, where she served as Vice Chair, and most recently, as Chair. In her roles as Vice Chair and Chair, she was involved in planning one of the Commonwealth’s preeminent legal conferences in the area of special education law. Ms. John lectures throughout the state to parents, educators, and attorneys on special education and other education law related topics.

Dr. Jacobson is a founding member and current Managing Partner of Jacobson & John LLP. Originally from Loveland, Colorado, Dr. Jacobson graduated cum laude from Colorado State University with a degree in Psychology in 1991.

In 1998, Dr. Jacobson earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology cum laude from Widener University, and concurrently earned a law degree cum laude from the Widener University School of Law. Immediately following law school, Dr. Jacobson was employed by the United States District Attorneys’ Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and by the Center for Psychotherapy Research at the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to representing students with special needs throughout Pennsylvania, Dr. Jacobson was a partner in a Bucks County law firm that focused exclusively on education law, where he represented school districts in a multitude of special education matters for nearly a decade. Dr. Jacobson has presented extensively on both special and general education topics across Pennsylvania to educators, parents, attorneys and hearing officers.

Dr. Jacobson served as co-chairman of the Exceptional Children Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association from 2012 to the start of 2016. He has been selected as a 2016 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters, a rating service of outstanding attorneys.
